I hope am in right place to ask this. I apologise if not.

I worked in job for 2 months at end of 2011. It did not work out and I left(basically I was bullied but that's another matter).

Anyway because I left with little notice they payed my monthly salary into my account for full month when it should have only been for one week.

Now I knew I was going to have to pay them back so when I rang them up few weeks later looking for P45 they brought up that I needed to pay them back.

Now I got the figure over the phone from the girl at the time. She said it was 1400euro. I got a letter couple weeks later with the bank account number I needed to give the money back to. I never bothered checking the amount on slip but basically it was 1500euro and not 1400euro like the girl said. So I still owe them 100euro

Now I told them to ring me or email me if any problems and they never rang. The only reason I am writing this now is I was going through my drawers trying get rid of few things and still have receipt and letter from them, but im 100euro short from letter.

I want do decent thing and ring them, but at same time is it possible they just forgot about it and should I sort it asap or just leave it.

    Really appreciate an answer.

    Thanks

I would leave it.They would have to be pretty tight to pursue you for 100e considering you had to leave through no fault of your own and you have been decent and returned 1400e. Its also possible that the 1400e figure was correct and the 1500e figure was a mistake which would mean you owe nothing anyway.I hope this helps you

    Thanks for feedback repsol.

Just to clarify I left on my own accord. Basically payroll and HR had no idea about why I left. I just spoke to manager, but never really told her truth.

When I was doing my calculations it does seem that the 1500euro figure was correct now more then likely.

The only reason I ask this is will it come up in some P60 or P25 form and are there any penalties for not paying it if they do come back?

If best thing to do is leave it and see what happens then that's what I will do. Likewise maybe contact them to be sure.

    Thanks.
