How long were you on the champix?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,465 ✭✭✭✭cantdecide

I'm 9 years off cigs as of the 4th Jan. The weird date is because I decided my first day back at work was my first day of the new year.

Part of you will always want to throw in the towel after a slip but the trick is to pick up where you left off and move on.

why should they be banned exactly. No body who uses an ecig claims to be nicotine free, you're free of the damaging thousand cancerous chemicals and other crap in cigarettes.they aren't supposed to be a tool to get off cigarettes either, however neither are chewing gums etc.educate yourself on them and then perhaps we can debate, rather than throwing out pointless inaccurate statements.

Pah, I'm 5 minutes off the smokes and I have no intention of ever going back....hold on, just lighting one, I'll be right back.. can't hold the beer, light a smoke and type all at once..

Yea insane dreams. There fine just leave them as dreams, don't think to much about them when your awake or you'll be checking yourself in.
The side effects of the tablets no matter how bad are nothing compared to the side effects of smoking.
One thing you'll really notice is how smelly smokers are, jesus there terrible smelly. I never really noticed it now I can't walk down the street behind one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 677 ✭✭✭CarMe

I gave up over a month ago using an e-cig, it makes me rage to hear someone dismissing this!!
Doesn't matter how you give up -smoking that is- once you do, you should be supporting fellow quiters regardless of the medium they used to give up!

The thing is,i enjoyed cigarettes, but hated everything about them, the smell, loss of breath etc etc.Now i have something as harmful and disgusting as a nicorette chewing gum with more satasfaction than a cigarette. Why would i give the e-cig up?.I can smoke in restaurants, pubs, clubs and even hospital. It's causing me no harm nor anybody around me.They only way people would know i have a dependence on nicotine is when i take my device that looks like a pen out and exhale vapor.

Nicotine in the doses i'm taking is as harmful as caffeine,i suppose we should probably ban coffee next

Moral of the story, there is no need for me to give up vaping. But if i did i could cut down to a 0mg juice and continue vaping, which i would.

I get 100% what you saying, I've driven down that road.

What the eCigs are doing is causing you to hang on to a habit you think you enjoy, you don't enjoy the habit though that's the thing. Champix make you brake the habit. Once you've done that you'll look back at how bonkers you are right now, wouldn't it be nice to have a good meal and not want any type of cig/eCigs after it. That's what you should be aiming for.

Now that your on the eCigs you should try the champix, that kills the nicotine craving and makes it taste funky, you need to kick the eCigs now.

You are smoking. That's the problem with them, they actually encourage smoking.
Do yourself a favour and go the whole way now and loose the habit of smoking.
