Hey, so I got my test tomorrow. At 15:45 in Finglas test center.
I am not really stressed or nervous I always just go with the flow.
Yet I still have couple questions:

    1) When seeing a car parked on a side of road, and you need to move out a bit and maybe cross line a bit, do you need to indicate at all? or just check right mirror, and see if there is no car coming and move out and overtake it?

    2) When turning - do you need to check blind spots? or check blind spots only when changing lane?

    3) When reversing around corner, do you look all ways? or just pretty much turn your head and watch back window for cars coming and keep glancing at left mirror to see the alignment?

    4) When doing turnabout - What's better? take more than 3 points or hit a kerb with back wheel a bit?

    5) What's better - Having such gear that engine is bit over-revving or shift up and shift down? for example you pass a speedbump in 2nd gear, and next speedbump is far away, so you go into 3rd gear, then engine is over-revving already but speedbump is about 50 metres from you, should you go into 4th gear and then drop to 2nd before speedbump or drive with over-revving engine? (I have no problem dropping down in gears, I usually come to a full stop while shifting down 4-3-2-1)

    6) Should you take all turns in 2nd gear? with no exceptions? just drop into 2nd and slowly take a turn?

    7) When doing hillstart, can you take handbrake off, hold brakes and let them go to move up? or should you better have handbrake on, bring clutch to biting point, add bit of gas and release handbrake?

    8) If you see cyclist, and unsure if you can safely squeeze through between cyclist and without crossing like, should you back off and wait for cyclist to move a bit or overtake him same as moving/stationary car?

    9) Will examiner look at speedometer? because mine is a bit glitching and it tends instead of going smoothly down or up it rather goes like clock ticking. But if I stay in that speed for about 2 seconds it clicks to it and shows that speed.

    10) Do you have to indicate on a small roundabouts? when you take next exit out do you need to indicate it? or just indicate where you go and just go?

    11) Can you suggest how to keep windows from fogging up? I heard opening both windows a tiny bit helps?

    Observations:

Moving off - Left blindspot, right blindspot, rear mirror, left mirror, right mirror.
    Turning left - Left mirror.
    Turning right - right mirror.
Pulling to the side of the road - right mirror, rear mirror.
Reversing - Back window and left mirror.
Turnabout - right mirror, right window, left window.
Moving out to overtake - right mirror.

    Right?

    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks.

Yet I still have couple questions:

I include my amateur but very experienced view prefixed by "***"

    1) When seeing a car parked on a side of road, and you need to move out a bit and maybe cross line a bit, do you need to indicate at all? or just check right mirror, and see if there is no car coming and move out and overtake it? *** Never does any harm to indicate

    2) When turning - do you need to check blind spots? or check blind spots only when changing lane?

    3) When reversing around corner, do you look all ways? or just pretty much turn your head and watch back window for cars coming and keep glancing at left mirror to see the alignment? *** Never does any harm to look but dont overdo it. It will be on a very quiet road.

    4) When doing turnabout - What's better? take more than 3 points or hit a kerb with back wheel a bit? *** The test is all about safety and not tecnical ability. Don't worry if you can't turn in 3 points. Best NOT to hit kerb if in doubt.

(I have no problem dropping down in gears, I usually come to a full stop while shifting down 4-3-2-1) *** Just try drive in a gear that is right. There is no 100% answer to which gear is best.

*** Indicate and cross line if safe to do so.

** Never does any harm to indicate
    11) Can you suggest how to keep windows from fogging up? I heard opening both windows a tiny bit helps? ***Google this, there are lots of solutions and indeed products you can buy in a petrol station. However, this should be done in ADVANCE of the test. You can simply wipe the inside of the screen with a cloth and appropriate product.

**** To repeat myself , test is primarily about safety and less about technical ability.

    Thanks.

Yet I still have couple questions:

I'm not an expert but I'll try answer for you.

    1) When seeing a car parked on a side of road, and you need to move out a bit and maybe cross line a bit, do you need to indicate at all? or just check right mirror, and see if there is no car coming and move out and overtake it?

If you have to cross white line indicate, always use mirrors.

    2) When turning - do you need to check blind spots? or check blind spots only when changing lane?

    Always check everywhere.

    3) When reversing around corner, do you look all ways? or just pretty much turn your head and watch back window for cars coming and keep glancing at left mirror to see the alignment?

Look all around, mirrors, windows, always looking around.

    4) When doing turnabout - What's better? take more than 3 points or hit a kerb with back wheel a bit?

I think u are allowed more than 3 point turn, take your time.

I would imagine u should use all gears, to show you know the car and have full control.

    6) Should you take all turns in 2nd gear? with no exceptions? just drop into 2nd and slowly take a turn?

    Yes.

    7) When doing hillstart, can you take handbrake off, hold brakes and let them go to move up? or should you better have handbrake on, bring clutch to biting point, add bit of gas and release handbrake?

Handbrake on til clutch bites then release.

    8) If you see cyclist, and unsure if you can safely squeeze through between cyclist and without crossing like, should you back off and wait for cyclist to move a bit or overtake him same as moving/stationary car?

Slow down, only overtake if it is completely safe to do so. Indicate etc.

    9) Will examiner look at speedometer? because mine is a bit glitching and it tends instead of going smoothly down or up it rather goes like clock ticking. But if I stay in that speed for about 2 seconds it clicks to it and shows that speed.

    Don't know.

    10) Do you have to indicate on a small roundabouts? when you take next exit out do you need to indicate it? or just indicate where you go and just go?

    Always indicate.
If taking second exit off, no need to indicate going on. Indicate left as soon as you pass first exit.

    11) Can you suggest how to keep windows from fogging up? I heard opening both windows a tiny bit helps?

Fan on windscreen only, leave windows open a bit.

    Thanks.

    I was told years ago:

" Drive like a nun watching a tennis match".

    Good luck.

By the way I did my test 20 years ago, so my advice might be out of date :-)

When you approach red traffic lights - make sure you stop before the white line.

Also, know the answer to this question , which lane should you be in if you approach a roundabout and intend going straight.
