    Lads
Have been using a basic WD media player for a couple of years and has served me well. Was thinking of upgrading to the Live version to allow me hook it up to a central HDD with the view to getting a couple more for some extra rooms. Before I do is it worth investing a bit more on these boxes like Boxee etc. I see they can utilise the likes of rte Iplayer but can you rig them to also pull in the UK Iplayers. Done this before on the laptop albeit through some form of a proxy due to restrictions for viewers outside the UK.

So in a nut shell what extras do the more expensive boxes have over a WDLive box €85ish

    Thanks

You could go for something in between, the WD Live TV Hub has some of the features that you are mentioning plus it has a much better UI than basic WD media players. It dowhnloads movie metadata also.
