Ask for help and training? It's in their interest to make sure you know what your doing.

In the workplace you can't expect people to guess what you need: be assertive and up front and say "Would you mind running through X with me?" or "I'm not sure about Y, this is how I understand it <insert understanding>, am I right?"

Were you till trained? Try to pinpoint what you're having issues with..different methods of payment, gift cards etc. Its up to them to make sure you know what you're doing, because not knowing is a surefire way to lose money from the till, build up a queue and use managers time. Ask for help if you have a problem. Take your time with transactions, don't rush. And breathe..it is actually very easy and will be no bother to you once you have the hang of it.
