Good to see Charlie Brooker back doing what he does best.

And he has a new Omni-wipe series later in the Year. No transmisson date yet.

In the new series, which will launch on BBC2 in 2013, Brooker will be scrutinising newspaper headlines, TV shows, adverts, films, books, video games, social media trends and YouTube phenomena.

Typically acerbic and too damned fast! Sometimes you just want a pause to finish chuckling at the joke before having to laugh at the next splendidly splenetic description.

Biting statire, hugely informative and entertaining - but how am I only finding out now that there is a politician called Tiny Kox ? :D

Great stuff - and loved his comparison of the Olympics to a computer game.

He did say then that he'd see us all in a few weeks: Is Omni-wipe coming that soon? He can't have been mentioning "Black Mirror" because that's on C4.

On Twitter he said it would be on air "in about 4 weeks."

Thought this was great. Have to add:
Couldn't believe the US take on the Concordia. 'A real life Titanic'. Talk about stupidity.

Same here, it dipped in quality this year by a bit.

Still, those Peirs Morgan jabs never get old. He could just make a whole show telling us about how much of an arsehole Morgan is.

Good news, Bill Murray is set to play the lead in Christopher Nolan's latest comic book adaptation, The Blue Patriarch Rises :pac:

Thought it was an improvement over last years, some very funny bits in it.

Looking forward to the Omni-wipe, was thinking to myself how I'd love to see him do this stuff again.

That was eye popping stuff, easily the stoopidest thing I'd seen in 2012.

It's available on YouTube now, for anyone that wants to watch it.

Found it odd there was no mention of the Dark Knight Rises or Sandy Hook shooting, as these were both pretty huge events and he had commented on shootings previously.

There was a quick mention of Dark Knight Rises if I remember correctly, but it was more of a throwaway comment.

By far, the best 60 minutes of entertainment in the entire Christmas/New Year schedule. My favourite moments...
Barry Sh*tpeas talking about the Olympic Opening Ceremony, ridiculing the Chanel ad with Brad Pitt and the Costa Ad with the heads singing to KISS.

The boneyarseman was talking about the shooting at TDKR.

maybe he's saving them for his omniwipe in a few weeks?

that ****'d be a great ratings draw for a new show

Saw this the other day and thought it was quite enjoyable. Certainly no better or worse than previous years. I don't watch that much telly and so what Screenwipe does for me is provide a digest of some of it's lowest points from the past year with a satirical tone on top of that.

Ah, yeah re-reading the post, that makes sense. Apologies.

Seal cracking one out on TV! Dirty boy!

Ha. The boneyarseman. I like that.

Yeah, I meant the actual shooting itself. Seemed strange to mention the movie, but not that, which the whole reporting of was an unbelievable clusterf*ck, I think.

What is Omniwipe going to be about, I wonder?

I really enjoyed it this year, although the female Barry ****peas is dreadful.

Certainly the best thing I've seen on tv in ages

Watched this today, was only ok, not hilarious or anything. Thought it would have been better with just Brooker by himself and not those other characters giving their tuppence worth, they weren't funny at all.

Overall not bad viewing, but not brilliant.

Stanhope's piece on the Grand National was brilliant.
