Is it true that this has closed down? A friend told me today but I am wondering is it true or have they moved somewhere else??

As far as I know they have moved the whole club to their Donnybrook location, their FB page has all the info

yes due to extraordinary high rates / rents / leaking roof etc in the city centre we have decided to close mac curtain street gym and move to our other location in donnybrook for now. A sad day as we were there a long time and had a lot of memories in the place.
On the up side we now have all the young lads from donnybrook mixing it up with the old heads of town so will be a good athmosphere.

Thanks for the info. Shame it won't be in the city anymore. Donnybrook a little bit far out for me unfortunately

Sorry to hear that these guys are gone from McCurtain Street. Was in there a good few times and it was one of the nicer places to train in the city. I presume the BJJ classes are gone from there too? Was set on starting this week but unfortunately Donnybrook is a bit of a trek for me as well.

Would ye ever consider doing BJJ in Donnybrook or around the Douglas area

Terrible shame, I trained in that gym for a couple of months before I moved to England and it was a great experience. I'd never done Muay Thai before (only boxing) but got great instruction, a lot of help from the lads and some good sparring as well. Dave and Anthony were a great pair of lads and I wish them all the best in the new gym.

Started out there many moons ago in the same area where CORK THAI is based now in Donnybrook...then moved to city. But there is an opportunity to open up again there.

That would be cool if ye were able to do some classes in that area - I know the gym below the Cork Thai guys have moved out to Tramore Rd so there is space there at moment...

For anyone that cannot commute to donnybrook there are a lot of lads who pick people up outside the old club and drive them out and back...

And for anyone from from sitjaipetch who would like a change of scenery you are more than welcome too :D:D
