Does anyone know if you could avail of both in the same tax year? Im expecting the answer to be no but was just curious all the same.

They are separate schemes so there is no reason why not

The Irish Rail TaxSaver office have said you can, presuming both are primarily used for travel to work, but the Revenue are the real deciders.

That would be the plan anyway. I would use both for getting to work i.e probaly commute 2 days out of the 5 by bike and the other 3 by train

I used both in the same year. Got a fold up bike which I take on the train with me.

Like Victor said, the ultimate deciders are revenue, though I have yet to hear of a bike to work scheme audit.
