Paying PRSI, and its effect on potential profits

    Hi,

I have an employee. Their gross wages are an expense to my business.

Forgive the basic question, but is the PRSI that I pay on the employee's behalf also an expense to my business, that affects its calculation of profit? This in the case where there isn't employee-contributed PRSI.

Yes, your wage expense is the gross pay + employer's PRSI.
