Morning all, and a Happy New Year!

I got a gift voucher for Halfords for Christmas and instead of getting the usual Autoglym stuff (which I'll never use!) I figured I'd get some stuff for the bike. Haven't a clue as to what's or not!

Basically I'm looking for a good frame cleaner that take off the oil deposits that came off the chain, but won't strip the paint!
Also looking for a chain/cog/derailer cleaner/lubricant that can be used in situ, as I don't have the tools for dismantling.

Here's the link to Halfords. If some kind soul could point me in the right direction it'd be gratefully appreciated!

For in situ degreasing try this from Halfords.

    Swarfega Jizer Degreaser

    It's amazing stuff.

There really is no substitute however for taking the chain and cassette off, it's an easy job and the tools are inexpensive.

    Thanks.

I'm an absolute ape when it comes to making/breaking things though, so I'd be very reluctant to try anything. I'm literally wary about moving my saddle from its original position in case I can't get it back right!

Is there anything you'd suggest for lubing things up again afterwards?

3 for 2 special on in Halfords at the moment. I used my vouchers to get Muc-Off Fastaction bike cleaner spray, Muc-off water soluble degreaser and 150ml of Muc-Off wet chain lube. Training bike and drive train shining like a new penny today .

Halfords own brand citrus degreaser is good for cleaning chains sprockets etc. And it won't strip any paint. Promise. Get a couple of brushes to help cleaning the dirty stuff.

Everything from the Muc-off brand that I have tried is good. Try the fast action bike cleaner. This one. with the trigger and if you like it get the refill.
