    Hi all

We are getting married June 24th 2013 and we really want to go on a cruise around the likes of the Caribbean for 14 nights

Can anyone tell me where should I be looking at to speak to someone regarding prices or if you can even do 14 nights

You can do cruises of any duration you please but for a honeymoon, you might consider splitting it in two, 7 days based in one location on land and a 7 day cruise. If you've never done a cruise before then 14 nights on a ship for your honeymoon might not be the best idea because you might not like the food, you might not like the other people (too old, too young, too noisy, too quiet) and most of all, one of you might not have good sea legs in which case you're honeymoon would be ruined. All cruise ships have stabilisers so there won't be any rolling or pitching but some people are very sensitive to any movement underfoot and can be laid low by weather that wouldn't bother the majority of passengers.

Possibly base yourself somewhere in Florida, hire a car and drive around and then hop down to Miami and catch a cruise ship but the Caribbean might be very hot in June.

Let me know how you get on would you? We are thinking the same thing, getting married in Sep 2013, are thinking of doing what the other poster suggested and spending 7 days in Florida or somewhere nearby and a 7 day cruise. We are at very early stages of research though

Myself and my wife did a Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon.

We went with Royal Caribbean, it was only a 7 night cruise. I believe if you want to do a 14 night cruise with them you need to book two back to back cruises, a east and west Caribbean. If you do book back to back cruises, for a 14 nighter I understand you get the same room so you don't need to check out between legs.

For the price we would have paid a travel agent for the cruise, flights and one night in a hotel, we got flights, cruise, a week in Orlando pre-cruise and two nights in Miami post-cruise by booking ourselves for the same price. We paid $3,200 for the the cruise only, but we had a junior suite. But you can get cabins for much less, if you go for interior room, no windows unless you have a promenade room.

I'd no complaints about Royal Caribbean, I'd definitely go with them again. RC imo have the best ships, we went on a Freedom class with was the best ship at the time, they now have a newer ship, Oasis of the Seas which would be my choice if going again. I've also done a Carnival cruise and they were very good, both had their good points. I can't comment on any other lines but I have been told most of the major liners are very good, they are catering to the Americans after all, and they can be very demanding.

The one thing I would say is get a cabin as high up as possible, apparently the lower cabin can experience engine noise/vibration.

We booked the cruise with Tavelocity, I can't remember the issue but either I couldn't book directly with RC, or they would only bill me in Euro which was working out more expensive.

If you have any specific questions let me know.

I would limit the cruise to 7 days. Do the cruise the last week as 99% of hotels will feel like a step down after a RC ship.Do not spend the other week in Miami as it is not a great spot.About 5% of it is nice but full of really strange poser types and everything is overpriced. The other 95% of it can be dangerous if you don't know you way around.Orlando is a good option or you can cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. Stick to RC as their ships and service are superb. If you want a very lively cruise I would suggest Carnival.Celebrity and Holland America have a much older passenger average age so probably not good for a Honeymoon.I wouldn't worry too much about vibrations in the cabins as has been suggested. You cannot tell if the ship is moving or not unless you look outside, such is the size/spec of the ships
