Travelling to Northern France and onto Belguim in June on motor bikes to view & visit the WW2 & Mainly WW1 sites in Belguim and was wondering has anybody stayed in hostels or houses around these areas especially around Ypres and Flanders ..
    Thanks M F

The Fast Hotel chain of hotels in France is good. We stayed in a few during our tour last year. Each room has it's own shower and toilet and you get free internet too.

There are 2 different types of hotels they offer. The Green (cheaper) and Red (more expensive). They are basically the same and we found the Green ones had better service. There's a map on the main page of that link which shows the Green and Red hotels.

you will have a great laugh in belgium, they dont really understand the rules of the road so make up their own on the spot and do what they please, roundabout are a great source of entertainment in belguim...the french do obey some rules but they prefer to drive aggressive rather than passive but along the coast people are a lot more relaxed than the parisians where i had my first real taste of driving in france..
I am planning something similar in 2014 but i am starting in the north of halland and making my way south as its easier for me as i now live in the netherlands...
