My Sky dish is very rusty and I want to replace it but not with the same mesh disc. Any recommendations for a solid dish that will work with a Sky quad LNB?

Living in the coastal areas you would be better of in the long run with a Fibreglass dish something like this. http://www.egansatellite.ie/shop/product.php?id_product=78 although the Sky quad is designed to work with the shape of the Sky dish if does not work properly with a round dish then a universal quad Lnb should not be that expensive.

Wow, that's a bit pricey compared to a Sky dish. Just to clarify, are you saying the quad LNB doesn't work with a round dish or if it doesn't?

This one although not fibreglass is pretty good.

Yes, you would ideally need a new quad lnb too, will set you back around €20.

The quad should work just fine. I fitted a sky quad today to an inverto 60cm aluminium dish and it is coming in at 90% Signal Strength and 78% Signal Quality.

I agree that the dish mentioned earlier is pricey. The inverto alu costs something in the region of €50.

It is about the cheapest price i have come across for a Fibreglass dish. some other sites are charging up to €170 for a Triax 60cm dish.
I never use a Sky quad designed for an oval sky mini dish on a Round dish as the feed-horn is not suited to a circular dish. Watty done a good post here a while back explaining the difference in both Lnb's there is also some explanation on Sky and non sky Lnb's here http://www.satcure.com/tech/lnb.htm#oval http://www.satcure.com/tech/lnb.htm

Thanks lads. Nabbed a local installer doing an installation and did a deal for a new Sky dish (I know, I know:rolleyes:) and quad LNB installed for €60. He was in and out in 10 mins, just popped the dish on and connected the cables, the original bracket was still in good condition, too good to pass up in my view as Bmaxi and ladders are not on friendly terms.
