Don't like new years either, pay into pubs full of drunks telling me its the best night of the year is not my idea of fun.
Halloween is my favorite- the people dressed up a normally the ones up for a laugh and a bit of crack.
Paddys day house party normally good fun
Good Friday drink-athon always a mess.

I used to work in a bar so never had this night off. Before that we spent it as a family night in and visiting our next door neighbours was the height of going out then. Tonight I'm watching David Hasselhoff read the bedtime story on Cbeebies with my two daughters then making a nice steak for me and the OH.

Never saw the need to make this night/day a night on the town.

Oh I get that and any old excuse to drink but just the whole hype of New Years has never hit me, ever, like it does others.

    Haven't celebrated it since 1991.

I'd say Manchester United will definitely get rid of Alex Fergusen this year the will never topple the mighty Liverpool with him in charge.

Also I'd say a band called Nirvana will dominate the music scene for the next 20 years.

The only 'holiday' I'll ever enjoy is the day of my funeral.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,145 ✭✭✭DonkeyStyle \o/

I'll be ringing in the new year by taking a massive crap. The people on the TV will count me down, then cheer and set off fireworks in honour of my victory.

I have no great affection for any holiday other than days off work.

I normally have a party but this year no one wanted to come, so I'm just gonna sit in and have a few drinks and be miss Lonely. :(

Always have had an irrational hatred for New Years eve and having been to a funeral this morning I now have a reason.

    Also really hate Velentines

Will be staying in and watching the Jools Holland show, having a few drinks and relaxing.

In my early 20's it made perfect sense to pay 20 quid in to a pub that you had to queue for 30 minutes to get a drink in then spill half it wading through the crowd trying to get back to your standing spot, fcuk that for a game of soldiers.

Argh, I'm turning in to me Dad the older I get, someone please help!

I'm worried about celebrating this year as I have an irrational fear of the number 13, there's some fancy term for my condition but I'm not able to spell it. :pac:

That's very true, in America for instance most people go back to work the day after. I'm not a fan of xmas either but I like our tradition of taking a week off. It gives ya something to look forward to in the depths of winter.
