Amazon Super Saver to Ireland - How Long?

So I ordered a pair of headphones from Amazon UK (Amazo.co.uk themselves being the seller) on the 21st of December. That was fine, I wasn't expecting them in a hurry or anything. I get an email the next morning saying my order had been dispatched, and were currently in Germany, with the forward shipping to Ireland being with DHL. That day, they went from some distribution centre in Leipzig to some international forwarding place in Cologne, reaching there the night of the 23rd.

Thing is, according to the DHL tracking service, they still haven't moved from there in the past 8 days. I know it was Christmas in the meantime, but I would have hoped for there to be some movement. Has anyone else come across really long delivery times using Amazon Super Saver like this?

    I had the same experience.

Contact Amazon customer service OP. They have been excellent in my experience.

I have had atleast a couple of hundred packages from amazon in the last number of years. I have rarely had to deal with customer service bur when I have I have always found them brilliant. Get in contact they really have the best customer service I have come across.

It has never taken longer than three working days for me from 20+ orders though none of them were at this time of the year.

Stuff dispatched via deutschepost dhl is notoriously slow to arrive. I have had to wait up to two weeks in the past. Germany's postal system is rubbish! Usually when items say they are going to take two days longer to be dispatched, it means they are coming from Germany, I have found.

Actually yeah. When I had a problem with mine it was deutschepost who were shipping it. 2 months it took them!
In the meantime Amazon had shipped another one from the UK.

Yeah, it said the two days extra to deliver alright. I 'll leave it another couple of days and them maybe contact amazon customer service. In fairnes, when I first ordered it, it said the 5/6 January for delivery, but when it was dispatched, it shot forward to the 31st of December.. I'll give them an extra few days I reckon, I'll have to put up with my Sony earbud headphones for a couple extra days! :)

Just got a reply from an email I sent to Thomann saying that there's a back log in the import parcel centre of An Post and that my parcel should be here by middle of next week at the latest. They also said that if it doesn't get here by then that DHL will have to start an investigation. I'm guessing that means yours should be with you soon also :)

That's great, thanks! I was thinking of emailing them but you saved me the hassle. It'll be the same story with mine hopefully :)

My parcel arrived in Portlaoise at 10:58 this morning according to An Post track and trace, so I'm hoping it'll be here today. Hope yours arrives soon as well. Check track.anpost.ie

Yeah, my headphones arrived today too thankfully, nice surprise to get them before the weekend, so 13 days waiting all in all. Thanks for all the advice on this thread! :)
