Dont have one but i used a friends a few times while i was white water kayaking, there made of tough stuff you wont ever break one if your using it for shooting. the footage of the 2nd and 3rd edition is also a really good quality.

I have a gopro hero 2 and am selling the complete kit and £100 extra accesories, not because theyre crap, because im upgrading the latest model which are seling around £360. ,my own package is up for grabs for £270 sterling, which is on the auction site as well. Fantastic camera, thats why im upgrading, i will also be selling shotgun mounts in the very near future, i have 1 already made for the benelli, and an adaptor to stop the cameras moving from recoil.

Have had 4 go Pro's between me and my brother over the past few years and they are teh best piece of technology that exists! We originally got them one summer for a bit of surfing and skiing that winter, but before you know it you're finding uses for them everywhere! Currently got the Hero 3 black edition from Santa and brother has it on the slopes as we speak and says it's fantastic.

As many have said, there are accesssories for everything and if not for exactly what you want, adapting a current mount to suit your needs shouldn't be difficult.I made up a mount that's easily changeable between a couple of the guns. I will look for the link and repost.

In short, I would recommend the GoPro series of cameras!

Quick question, bought a go pro camera black yesterday and am trying to set. It up here but if now discovered it has no battery included with it. Is this normal so has it been accidentally left out?surely it shud come with the battery. Or is it in a compartment I can't see?

There should most def be a battery. It is in a white small box within the package where all the leads etc are.
Side note - 1 will last you about an hour so buy more.

    MOST DEFINITELY
a battery should have been in ot, IT PART OF THE CAMERA, Its like selling you the camera with no lens and a battery instead, get onto them and stand your ground, some might say your a l**r indirectly off course.

Can only say good things about GoPro customer support so definitely give them a shout. They are very helpful so I don't think you will need to be 'standing your ground' or anything like that...

Pain in the arse, but suppose accidents do happen.

+1 on what epointer said. You will see yourself buying extra batteries soon enough:) Great cameras though, so the extra batteries are worth it when you weigh them against the footage you get.

I didn't mean standing ground against Go-pro as they do have an excellent customer service, i was referring to the auction site if it was bought from there, as some sellers will challenge you, as i have found out no so long ago. You will get around an hour and a half to 2 hours per battery, if charged correctly right from the outset. I've had the Go-pro 2 And the Go-pro 3 and battery life is around the same, the new Go-pro 3 + now has an extra 30% extra battery life, great little cameras, good luck with it.

What setting are you running as I have yet to get more than 1.15 @ 1080P 60fps??
Have you tried the battery bac pacs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 189 ✭✭mayfly36

1080 x 25 fps any faster ie 60 makes your video jump around, slow the rate to 25 frames per sec, i have the back pack, you will get about an your out opf a battery back pack. Here's some vids i made with the hero 2 on the River Derg BACK IN 2011 and other fox related later with the Hero 3 http://www.youtube.com/user/mayfly36

Right all got the go pro up and running.

Problem is when I play it back it stops and starts plus the sound is not in time with the images

Is this a setting problem on the go pro or is it the laptop I'm using?

    Thanks

thats most likelly the laptop slowing it down. also dont play back from the micro sd card save it to your hard drive first before playback

    Thanks.

The most expensive one in santas bag.

Take a look at their website. The newer generations are better in battery life, angle options etc.
The more you have to spend the better the result will be.
I have hero 3 black edition and it is great. My quality drops loading to YouTube.
Factor in a few spare batteries and SD cards in your budget. I prefer the backpack batteries as you can charge then directly through a port and hence charge in you pocket waking around.

I use a gopro hero 3 myself and have to say that they are the business. easily the most versatile of all the action cameras due to their popularity. Theres an attachment for everything available for them. like this for example. An offset gopro mount for pictinny rails. cheap as chips as well thanks to Chinese cloned products
