Hi there.. Sorry if this is in the wrong place
I frequent this particular roundabout located here: (https://maps.google.ie/maps?hl=en&ll=52.650663,-8.57749&spn=0.0026,0.004823&t=h&z=18).
The road sign on approaching the roundabout looks like this (note the "straight on" arrow)
    road_zpsede1b47b.png

and the red arrows indicate the route of travel. Because it is past the 12 O'clock mark and the sign indicates as such (can be seen properly in streetview) , you take the right lane - however 9 times out of 10 people take the left lane, sometimes nearly causing a crash.

A few days ago I went through the roundabout with a friend of mine, and he claimed that if someone was to use the left lane for the same exit that I (or anyone else using the right hand lane) would be liable for damage if you were to go into the back of them or hit the corner of their vehicle..

    Is this true?

route of travel is as shown on Google maps link; almost a straight through

Whether you go by the clock face nonsense or the old count the exits method you would be in the outside lane regardless.

    There's only 1 exit lane

Wouldnt you be in the right hand lane?

1st and 2nd exits left all subsequent exits right lane. Thats how I use it anyway. There's a similar one in Rosbrien by Old Crescent that I mentioned on here before and that's how I use that one too.
