How do I change an icon?

I have a .exe file that I made and I can't find how to change the icon from the default one. Does anyone know how to?

Your environment should let you choose a custom icon though.

What IDE and language are you using ?

Most of them allow you to assign a default icon to the exe and also include basic image editors.
