Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why would you pay that amount of money for a TV that you dont know anything about? Have a look at something like this Samsung in Argos that is over €30 cheaper and guaranteed to pick up the channels you require.

Argos may not have stock but if you shop around (Power City, Harvey Norman, Currys etc etc) yu will find something similar.

Great advice from muffler 20/20 as Samsung are a great brand these days muffler and can compete with the best for less.

The thread title refers to a 'DTT + SAT combi TV': no replies have addressed this yet.

As to the tv linked in the OP, there's nothing particularly encouraging in the specs shown wrt Saorview. Nothing in the manual either (& no English version).

Might be worth a look at one of the Walker Saorview approved combis, if that's the kind of thing you want.

Thanks Peter Rhea that particular TV is what got me started looking around,But i can save 50euro on the powercity sale price and there is 2 year warranty.I just want small cheap and simple for the bedroom.
I had noticed the manual was not english but all the pics of screen shots are writen in English and on page 21 they show ITV1 teletext,I guess the satellite tuner will work okay.
So i realy just want to know do people think it will pick up Irish DTT,teletext is of no interest to me Irish or English?

It looks like it does from this link http://www.changhongeurope.com/cz/en/led-tv-ef22f888sd#specification

Very low contrast and brightness levels though from that panel. Walkers made by Vestel in Turkey would be a bit better but teletext could still be very slow to load?

Or it could be MPEG2 DTT in the UK

Don't forget that there were still analog ITV1 transmissions until 26th of September is that even 100 days ago ?

Edit - off topic since it's probably Turkish

Slow steaming has been going on a while now
The new Marco Polo ship can load 16,000 containers and reach a speed of 24 knots. After a recent stop in this Belgian port city, however, she is cruising back to China at 14 knots.

The Marco Polo's size and pace on the Europe-to-Asia route show an interesting dynamic at play in the container-shipping industry: Grappling with excess container capacity and declining shipping fares, companies such as CMA CGM of France, owner of the Marco Polo, and A.P. Møller Maersk A/S of Denmark are racing to operate the biggest-possible ships so they can benefit from economies of scale, and run them at moderate speeds to save on fuel costs.
