Hi I lost my one and only key for my 2006 Focus Car.

Does anyone know the procedure and costs for getting another one?

To complicate matters the barrel for opening the door is broken so I only always locked and unlocked it electronically, will this affect it in anyway or does that matter?

    Thanks in advance.

Its gona be anywhere from €350-500 for just the key to be replaced and programmed anyway.

    nope.

Its €155 from a ford dealer, I have the same year focus and checked this out.

They program the car to accept the key.

You'll probably have to get the car recovered to garage to get key programmed.

I lost key of a 2005 transit last year... main dealer tech came to the house to do it, cost 20 euro extra, had to travel 10 miles to my house...

That's good service. I'll bet that very few dealers offer that service though.

Might be an idea to buy and programme 2 keys whilst your at it? 2nd key might even be cheaper?

OK , thanks to all for your replies. So now the question has changed - I found the key. And i'm just wondering how much to get a replica cut - with the electronic ability and immobilisation abillity etc of this original key?

Wow that sounds good. Really i can get the key that'll start the car and electronically open the doors for around €50 you reckon? Do i ring a main dealer is it?

I wouldn't think it would be a remote key for that price but you will get a key that will open the doors and start the car for that price.

You can try main dealer but try local locksmiths too just for price comparison.
