    Hi guys

I used to be an avid cyclist from the age of 16 until about 2008.
Between 2005 and 2008 I used to cycle 200km every weekend always over the Sally gap every weekend too.
Since then ive done no long distance cycling. Just a 40 minute round trip to work every day. And I have been doing weights.

I want to get back into cycling though as i miss the euphoric feeling I got when i was cycling up the Wicklow mountains. When you get up to the top to the flat parts inbetween passes, and all you hear is the wind and the chain turning.

What distance should I start out with? I dont want to do laps of the park or any loops as I know I will quit early.
Would Terenure to Greystones and back be ok do you think? There is a grave I want to visit there so that can give me some motivation for the cycle. And from there home I cant quit as im heading home.

    Thanks for any advice.

If you've been cycling every day, you have at least some cardio fitness left. You have been doing 20mins at a time? So maybe start with a 60min round trip.

Greystones return might be a bit far for a first trip, but definitely within a month

There's also the option to hop on a dart from Greystones and get a bit closer to home if it turns out you went too far...
