    hello
I currently have UPC 15 fibre power broadband, but i need to make it wireless and also keep the wired bit for the desktop pc.

    Would this
    or this work for me?

    thanks

Either should be ok - connect the cable modem to the new router via Ethernet, and then the router can issue private IP addresses to the desktop PC (via another ethernet cable), and to wireless devices over the new wireless network.
