Camera (+underwater housing) advice

Hi all

I've been looking to pick up a new p&s with underwater housing - would only like to spend 300 - 400 max as I dont do a huge amount of diving. I would be willing to spend more if the camera itself was really decent (Nikon 1 etc) but underwater housing for those is really expensive.

I've asked on the Scuba forum aswell but might get some more advice here

have a look at the go pro cameras

the latest ones do video and stills, the stuff i have seen from them looks stunning, and in and around your budget

Cheers I have a Hero 2 but the stills are very poor on it.

the PENTAX Optio WG-2 GPS is Waterproof to 12m, looks great, I'm with Pentax, nice cameras.

GPS and shockproof too.

edit : and a digital wide angle feature, whereby you can take 2 pics to be joined into a wide angle shot. I fancy this camera rotten myself and am not a bit adventurous.

I actually have the proper underwater lens but it doesnt fit to my current wrist band attachment. Either way I dont think the 2 will have sufficient quality underwater pics. I didnt realise the 3 had the flat lens as standard.
