    Hi folks

I'm looking to get an underwater camera, but one which would be a reasonable point and shoot without the housing. I'd be looking at the lower end of the price range as I don't do a huge amount of diving - maybe 300 - 400 max if that is possible?

    Cheers

Cameras underwater in the Uk has quite a good list here.

There is also a few options on Divegear.ie

In your price range Fuji is probably your best option.

GoPro is also a option to consider.

You could try the following, which I did a few years ago.

Nip into Conn's Cameras on Clarendon St (beside the entrance to Brown Thomas car park), ask for Mike.
Mike buys (or certainly used to buy) 'end-of-line' underwater housings whenever he finds them cheap. Then he keeps his eyes open for second hand cameras that will match the housing, and sells them at a reasonable price.
For example, about 4 years ago I got a 2nd hand 5 megapixel Canon along with a brand new unused housing for (I think) €200 altogether.

Cheers that is certainly an option

In the meantime I've been looking at

and underwater housing (although as expensive as the camera)
