    Hi guys,

Im looking for some suggestions as to what the problem might be with my peugeot 307. Its 2001 and has 82000 miles on the clock. I just went out to drive off and the car opened as usual and I sat in but just as I was turning the key the whole car went black and there is no power. None at all. Everything is black and there is no sound at all when I turn the key. It has been driving normally with no problems up until now. Thanks!

Battery first. Check all battery cables and terminals and then give it a jump start. Check you might even have motor rescue on your car insurance, and they'll come do it for you if youre not confident yourself.

Thanks guys! I was a little worried about jumping it as I had heard that you can the voltage increasing quickly can cause damage. So the power needs to be brought up slowly. (does that even make sense?)

Anyways I do have rescue on my insurance. So if I cant get it going by charging the battery ill have it towed to the garage on monday :(

If you call your motor rescue, they'll come start it using a booster pack and do a battery test for you. No need to wait til monday.
