My bottom back left tooth is in agony lately , Now i think i broke it ages ago because bits have been coming off it for over a year now and the other day I bit down on my dinner and was in agony, It's like the inside of the tooth is exposed if that makes any sense and the outside is worn down , Its driving me mas as i mainly chew with that side of my mouth so eating is a pain at the moment literlly,

So anyone have something similar happen ?

If there's been bits coming off it for a year it's probably fecked.
Go and have it whipped out and be done with it.
The longer you leave it the more chance of it getting infected and an abscess forming.

There is a good chance the root is exposed or very close to being exposed,(causing the pain) extraction will be the only thing to fix it, I would be guessing it is a wisdom tooth if it is at the back of your mouth,

you will feel nothing once they sedate you, it might take some time to heal as the gum may have to be cut open to access what is left of your tooth,

get your gums checked to make sure you do not have an disease which may effect the rest of your teeth,

other than that brushing at least twice a day and flossing after a meal will help to keep the rest of your teeth in place,

it is no big deal these days, (extractions).

    They're not axe murderers.
Don't let it get any worse or you might have something to worry about.
Get it out, it'll take 15 mins.

Without a doubt, the fact that you have left this so long is the cause of the issue.
After the first break,it could have been easily resolved!

Dentists are people too and they arent going to butcher you...:pac:

Unfortunately that is because time has taken its toll, I used to shiit myself going to the dentist till I put myself in a similar situation as yourself, I spent 4 months on ponstan 500mg, up to 6 a day and they almost did more damage than the bad tooth,

once I went to the dentist (no other option left open to me) I could not believe how painless and quick it was,

OP the other thing you could be leaving yourself open to is an abscess, this is something you do not want it is far more painful than a tooth ache and can be difficult to get rid of.

There is always the, tie a piece of string (thread) to what is left of your tooth then tie the other end to a door handle and call someone into the room.

So went in to get sorted today , dentist was sound out, turns out my tooth was fecked and had a minor infection so i was offered 2 options, antibiotic or getting it out, easy answer

Said take it out was painless really if a little uncomfortable but as it dug in so close to the nerve she had a lot of trouble with it , but did get most of it, So she's put me on antibiotics for the 5 days and have to go back then on Saturday where i can hopefully be done with the bloody thing

The great thing about this is when you think times are getting hard you can store food in that hole, I am jealous about the rest of your teeth, at least you got it sorted, munching with gums is not good (so I am told).

Just a little update on this ..Went back today for my follow up or round 2 as i have now dubbed it, So yeah there was still some tooth there after all and it was killing me the last two days, so after 45 minutes of pulling, draggin, cutting and whatever else she did in there , she has now maintained she has got nearly all of it , the nerves are gone now she said but the last little itty bit is rightly dug in and she can't get it out, , On the plus side i may reaching the end of the tunnel with this tooth as already i can feel the diffrence from the the other day, When i was healing the other day i could still feel a tinge when i talked , Today is a nice bit better so far
