I have a problem & I'm just looking for some advice.

I ordered items from the above website end Nov. I received them a week later - all good. My total price was given in Euros, but when I checked my credit card online, I realised a great amount was taken [in Euros]. I checked my PayPal account and discovered that they had made a mistake and charged my account for the GBP price, instead of the Euros price. I have emailed numerous times, and got a reply back twice from 2 different people asking me to send a copy of my bank statement showing the transaction, which I did. After that, I received no communication whatsoever.

I have emailed PayPal in an attempt to open a dispute, and got this back from paypal today:
    " "Dear X,

    Thank you for contacting PayPal.
From researching your transaction and the company's website, it appears that the transaction is correct. The merchant's website only shows prices in Great British Pounds, not Euros. Please continue to try and work with the company for additional resolution.
    Thank you for choosing PayPal.

    Yours sincerely,
    X
    PayPal"

Surely this isn't right? I was under the impression that I was protected somewhat if I paid through payPal? I'm not receiving any communication from SportsDirect so thought PayPal could sort it out for me. It's a simple enough mistake - they charged GPB when the prices were ALREADY converted into Euro, but it means I'm at least €25 out of pocket.

    What can I do?

Take a screenshot of the website showing the price in Euros.
It seems that Paypal made a mistake on this occasion.

I did that. Have copied and pasted. And I took screenshot of my bank account. And sent it to two different people! Then they didn't respond.

When you ring the paypal this time, ask to speak with a manager ,explain the problem and it should be sorted .

Paypal seem to want me to sort it with sports direct myself but they won't reply so am I within my right in thinking papal should sort it? maybe the problem is essentially with paypal itself for charging the wrong currency, and not sports direct?

They are useless in replying via emails, stuff never gets sorted out .
Give them a buzz and you lucky they will get sorted straight away .
