Replacing a Tap washer

    I know how to do this however when I remove the tap's retaining screw I cannot get the tap head off the spindle to loosen the washer retaining-nut. Any ideas? I don't want to force the tap which has been on for about twenty years.

    Soak cavity below cap in wd40 or similar. After an hour or so, clamp below the head with pipe wrench and tap wrench with a hammer, should release it
