So did you pick the Cowboys in the end?
I think there's only one other Cowboys fan on boards.ie, I forget their username

Anyway, salary cap isn't going to change much for 2013
It's not set yet but will be around 120 million, maybe a small bit more

This link gives the current standings as of November 2012
    http://nfltraderumors.co/nfl-team-cap-space/
Of course no link is going to be completely accurate but it's a good guide
    AFC North
    Bengals: $9 million
    Browns: $14.5 million
    Ravens: $1.4 million
    Steelers: $1.1 million

    AFC South
    Colts: $5 million
    Jaguars: $20.1million
    Texans: $2.7 million
    Titans: $14.1 million

    AFC West:
    Broncos: $12.1 million
    Chargers: $2 million
    Chiefs: $13.8 million
    Raiders: $4.6 million

    NFC East:
    Cowboys: $3.7 million
    Giants: $2.2 million
    Eagles: $20.1 million
    Redskins: $3.3 million

    NFC North:
    Bears: $4.2 million
    Lions: $2.5 million
    Packers: $7.5 million
    Vikings: $8.4 million

    NFC South:
    Buccaneers: $11.7 million
    Falcons: $1.1 million
    Panthers: $4 million
    Saints: $2.9 million

    NFC West:
    49ers: $579,000
    Cardinals: $6.9 million
    Rams: $2 million
    Seahawks: $13.5 million

Players will be getting cut and contracts will expire soon so the numbers will change drastically.

A team widely touted to be in cap hell are the Steelers.
Bye bye James Harrison, Mike Wallace and others

The Eagles figure is going to change drastically this year

Browns & Jags and some others have so much cap room they have to spend money to hit the minimum rules!
Owners have to spend a set percentage, otherwise owners could spend hardly anything and pocket the difference.
Panthers did this two years ago

Cowboys and Redskins were hit with cap penalties this year, 10 million for the Cowboys.
Redskins will clear it over 2-3 years as they got fined 36 million
Cowboys had a smaller figure so it should mostly be cleared this year.

Cowboys are not in bad shape cap wise and a lot of older players were cleared out.

Ravens are far behind Paully for cap trouble

Flacco goes from his rookie deal to his new contract

There a few here who shall be getting the axe

    This years cap hits
    1. Terrell Suggs: $11.52 million
    2. Haloti Ngata: $10.4 million
    3. Ed Reed: $8.5 million
    4. Joe Flacco: $8 million
    5. Anquan Boldin: $7.531 million
    6. Ray Lewis: $6.85 million
    7. Ray Rice: $5 million
    8. Vonta Leach: $4.33 million
    9. Bryant McKinnie: $4.2 million
    10. McGahee: $3.725 million

    Yes, McGahee is still there

This is what happens when you sign a running back to a 6 year deal

    Ed Reed will be gone
He wants a three year deal and top money, at least 7 million per year
He will take offence at the offer he's given and will walk away on a sour note :(

    Ray Lewis?
Well if we win the Superbowl he'll retire on the spot.
If not, he's going to have to restructure.
    Now that's a difficult conversation!

Boldin will also have to restructure
He may choose to get released and go elsewhere.
A shame, Cam didn't use him properly at all but it was clear Jim Caldwell knows how to! He had a great game last week before he got hurt.

Bye bye McKinnie ya leaching slob
    Bankruptcy court is waiting

Its madness to see a team like the raiders with so few studs having so little cap room to play with

Victim of the old rules of draft picks.

Sam Bradford a lucky man he joined the league before the rookie salary cap.

Number 1 pick will always be well paid of course but not on the crazy sums the rookies used to get

Sure Sanchez was the 5th highest player in the entire league in 2010 season

Legacy of Al Davis (in particular his latter years) right there.

You're basing your lifelong decision as a fan on this? You cray bro. You wanna choose a team? Try the ten win colts with a 23 yo version of Aaron Rodgers, the Coach of the year as their OC, the most inspirational HC on the planet and all the fcuking karma you can dream of!!!

And Indy is a game of hopscotch from O'Hare... for le cheap flights!
