I bought a Tokina AT-X PRO 11-16mm F/2.8 DX Lens a about a week ago (love it) I have been using it on my D90 and it's great but I tried to use it on the D80 the other day but it would not work, same thing when I try to use my Sigma 28-300 on my D80. Am I doing something wrong or is it just a case that those lenses don't work on the D80?

I have that lens on the D80 and it worked fine.
Is there an error message when you try to take a photo?

Tried it again today and it worked? The Sigma 28-300 still won't work, it will work when set on the (M) mode but that's the only mode it works in. This is what it shows - f- - (that flashing on and off) CLOCK is also flashing on and off and it says (r09) when I try to take a pic? When I turn it off and back on again it MIGHT work for one shot but stops again?

Well, i know r09 is normal, that happens when you press the focus button.
I am not an expert but it sounds like there is a communication problem between your camera and your lenses. All you can do is check the contacts between the lenses and the body for damage or dirt.
After that i would recommend a visit to a good Nikon dealer.
