I saw that allright but wondered was there anything else the matter. He booted in another today, Chat Room at 5/1.
He is a tidy jockey and is a great trier even on outsiders.

Nothing else, he had the choice between the favourite in a 200k grade one race or the third favourite in a 20k handicap

Dont think theres any jockey whos always trying. I think Davy Russell generally is provided hes not riding for Byrnes or Gigginstown. Similarily AP if not riding for Jonjo or McManus.

Russell ---- Byrnes ---- Gigginstown . AP ---- Jonjo --- MCmanus. Do you mean both these jockies sometimes DONT try when riding for these connections?? I"m a bit confused by your statement

Yes what I mean is that Russell or McCoy are nearly always trying. The only ones they generally do stop horses for are Byrnes-Gigginstown or Jonjo-McManus.

Give up racing if you honestly think Gigginstown horses dont run on merit seriously.

Or that Byrnes would DARE to tell Russell to STOP one of his horses

I think your the one who needs to open their eyes. Russell will often school a Gigginstown horse.

Name one horse of gigginstowns that has been stopped please.

Look I'm not saying they are stopped but I am saying that not every single one is trying. Plenty of them get the age old instruction to "school them out the back, if he's travelling put him into the race. If not pop him round for experience, get some confidence into him and keep him fresh. Let me know what you think"

Russell nor anyone else will break up a Gigginstown horse first time of asking. Im sure your capable enough to go and search for these yourself.......

I know what you're saying but theres a difference between Denis O regan riding for Chris Grant (Barney really trains them) and davy russell not butchering a gigginstown horse once its chance has gone,Michael O Leary is not a gambler so he doesnt need to stop one to lay one out unlike JP McManus who's horses are giving very suspect ride's everyday of the week by many different jockeys including ''the champ'' Mccoy.

Agreed but what I'm saying is that Russell will generally only do this for Gigginstown or Byrnes. He is usually trying with all his other mounts.

Give an example of a Byrnes horse that DR has "stopped" or has not put into a race. Its a well known fact that lots of horses run in races that they havnt a hope of winning . To assume that all horses Must try to win every race they are in, is madness. The vast majority of horses NEVER win a race . To blame connections for "setting up " a horse to win a race is rediculous. I remember a few years ago Ted Walsh won a handicap at Leopardstown. It was obvious that the horse was aimed at the race , huge gamble that paid off. "Sure it was this ould horses day today, he might never win another one " HE hasnt . IF one in five "Gambles " come off --- its the most.

There are times when horses just dont have the engine regardless of the jockey. Of course trainers know this and will engage in a bit of schooling in the hope of bringing the horse on. Jockeys have to earn a living and cooperate with instructions if they want to ride for the trainer/owner again but I cant see McCoy Ruby Russell pulling a horse which has the ability to win

I'd strongly advise you dont back horses if you think mccoy is always trying the jp mcmanus operation is absolutely rancid who are untouchable in racing.

Typical of the begrudgery prevalent in Ireland. You obviously dont know anything about McCoys personality. You dont get to be champion jockey year after year pulling horses that have winning ability

I shouldnt even reply to this mug comment.

Are you honestly saying The champ has never pulled one?

Have a look at the ride on 'Get me out of here' at Ascot and see if you change your tune not exactly the mccoy drive eh

You should really have your own forum. It must seem very unfair on you that you should have to put up with common mugs' opinions which are so far wrong its ridiculous. I'm amazed that you even take time to come on here to try to educate all the dopes who have an interest in racing but are so utterly clueless.

Thank you, sir. I feel honoured to move in the same internet circles as one so wonderfully well-informed and knowledgeable as you. From you I can only learn and improve myself.

Are people really that gullible that they would think AP or DR have never stopped a horse.

Wasting your time mate its like talking to the wall the video alone posted has shot his argument to pieces that im begrudging jp success.

anyone who's been gambling for years or just watching horse racing can see
what's going on and sometimes it's more blatant that others and rancid is
certainly a word that can be used

you see it most days if you look close enough (can give an example
    today)

it's incredible how naive some people are here

I'm well aware, as I'm sure most people are, that horses are stopped every day of the week, especially by retained jockeys. That's not the point. It's the arrogance of certain posters here which gets my goat. Was just trying to highlight that.

Everyone has and is entitled to have, an opinion. If they are wrong, fair enough, let them know that you think they are wrong but some people here just deride and ridicule which is quite annoying tbh.

    Just my tuppence.
