    Strange thought process.

Church says Poland pledge to protect women will 'promote gays'

Polish Catholic bishops are furious after the country signs European convention on violence against women
    20 DECEMBER 2012 | BY MATTHEW JENKIN

The Catholic Church claims Poland's government will be forced to 'promote homosexuality' after it signed a convention against violence to women.

The country's Equal Rights Commissioner Agnieszka Kozlowska-Rajewicz signed the Council of Europe's document in Strasbourg yesterday (19 December).

It requires Poland to provide a 24-hour hotline for victims of violence, set up shelters and support centers, and a website with information about where women can find help.

However, Polish Catholic bishops have reacted angrily to the news, claiming it will lead to the promotion of 'non-stereotypical gender roles such as homosexuality and transsexualism'.

'Religion, tradition and culture should not been seen as the root of violence against women,' the bishops said in a statement, reported The Warsaw Voice.

'Linking the justified principle of counteracting violence with an attempt at dangerous interference in the educational system and the values espoused by millions of parents in Poland is a very disturbing signal.'

Their thought process goes 'If you protect a woman from violence, you're gay'.

    Riiiight...

Edit: That said, why isn't the EU creating an additional convention against violence to men?

I think it's pretty simple. They're wrong on this. Anything more need to be said?

Maybe you could explain why people should be listening to moral or ethical advice from the Catholic hierarchy?

Feel free to discuss it at length in one of the God forums.
