    Asking for a friend:
He has completed a 4-year undergraduate degree, but would now like to do a second one. He is under the age limit for a mature student, and has enough Leaving Cert points to get into the course he wants. How would he apply to the CAO or would he have to apply directly to the college itself?

Would really appreciate any information, thanks in advance

He can apply through the CAO however if the new degree is similar to his existing qualification he may be able to get exemptions from the new course. He should speak directly to the college before applying.
He should also be aware that as he already holds a degree its likely he wont be eligible for free fees or the grant.
