2002 Mk4 Golf GTi Electrics Failing? :(

Hello. I have a MkIV GTiT, 02 reg, recently purchased second hand. About a month after purchase I had a major drainage issue (sunroof etc) that caused water to collect in the driver front area on just one occasion. Got that sorted & everything still worked fine. In the last 2 weeks the central locking button has started opening all locks except the back passenger door. This will now only unlock using the central locking buttons on the drivers door, but in the last week thats only working intermittantly. Also this evening I realised the electric windows are not working in either back door using the local button but they work when I open/close using the controls on the drivers door. Anyone any idea as to the likely cause of this? I'm being quoted €75 to even diagnose but seems from reading some info online that this is a common problem - any help or advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!!

Could be your convenience module if the windows as well as the central locking are playing up.

I reckon your locking actuator is gone though. I just replaced mine yesterday - its about 1-2 hours work depending on how capable you are. You need to strip the door down to get at it. It will cause very random central locking issues when it goes.

also i wouldnt leave the key in the car and close the doors as they may lock themselves if its the convenience module thas gone
