Golf Bag at the Range

In the last month I have been to two different driving ranges where you aren't allowed to bring your bag in. Bit annoying having to chose a handful of clubs. Anyone know why a range wouldn't allow this? Only thing I can think of is people stealing balls or something?

I asked about it at the range I was using over the summer and I was told it was because people were stealing balls. I'm not sure why anyone would want range balls tho.

It has its advantages, if the driver is in the back of the car I actually get done what I wanted to do.

Sad state of affairs, hope this doesn't become the norm!

Apart from them being **** balls I would think it would be fairly embarrassing standing on the first tee when the guy you are playing with says "I'm playing a Titleist 3 with green dots" and you respond "Range ball with red stripes for me".

I know the guy who owns my local range. He reckons approx 2000 balls are stolen from his range each year. Sad b#stards tbh....

They are stealing them from every range. They don't use them on courses but in fields beside their homes or in their gardens for practice. Thieving gits.
