Pro Bowl 2013

Not a mention of it on this forum so far, very surprising, anyway, a link to the rosters:
    http://www.nfl.com/probowl/story/0ap1000000117432/article/2013-pro-bowl-rosters-afc-nfc

Obviously, the big talking point is that there are 5 Kansas City Chiefs despite only being a 2 win team (the Broncos also have 5 on the roster). I don't think Ed Reed was worthy of his spot either.

Why people even bother tuning into this I will never know. A waste of everybody's time.

I never watch it but i like players getting the honour of being named. Some of the selections are stupid as **** though. Jeff Saturday was benched ffs and 2 win KC having more pro bowlers than the packers and as many as the broncos is ludicrous. (mind you, Charles and Johnson did deserve it) Aswell as that, Mankins hasnt been near as good this year as other years, while Zane Beadles for us has been serious. Ed Reed has struggled this year so him over Eric Weddle or Jairus Byrd is stupid.

    Jeff Saturday.

    Nuff said. Farce.

Its a joke of a selection policy. Jeff Saturday n Chris Snee on the Nfc o-line.

Victor Cruz is the only Giant that deserves a mention. JPP has extended his game but hasn't been as efficient. Although his place is of more merit than Chris Snee, Ed Reed etc.

His only issue this season has been a series of niggling injuries. But aside from that, there are very, very few Guards in the league that can be mentioned in the same breath as him.

Agreed on Mankins who is one of the best guards in the league and has been up to his usual standard this season but he has missed 6 games.

The Pro bowl means nothing anymore, all-pro is where its at these days.

Dez Bryant and James Jones have still outperformed him, as has Randall Cobb so Cruz is getting by on popularity alone imo

    Ravens got 4 starters

Marshal Yanda deserves his selection, superb player at right guard

Jacoby Jones was a hate figure in Houston and now he has a new team and two returns for 105 yds and over.
Special teams beast and a good Number 3 WR too. Lee Evans is no longer spoken about...

Vonta Leach, best fullback in the league nevermind the AFC

    Ed Reed got selected too
Bit of a dodgy selection me thinks

Other 3 totally deserve it but Ed Reed's standout play this year was getting hurdled by Knowshon Moreno. :pac: He's not had a great year, Jairus Byrd and Eric Weddle are far more deserving. Don't even get me started on Eric Berry. Kansas having more pro bowlers than the Falcons is ****ing hilarious

Ah Moreno is just a copy-cat!

It happened in Week 2 also

Which was also a loss :(

Justin Tucker missing out was a disappointment for me, although I'm exaggerating a bit when I say that because the whole shambles means nothing to me to be honest.

Imo Phil Dawson deserved it. Very underrated Kicker up to that point. About the only part that they really got spot on. Richard Sherman missed out and was asked about it, he said it meant nothing to him, the all pro was all he really cared about and that he'd make first team. Says it all about the way its gone.

Just after finding out that Jeff Saturday being selected cost John Sullivan 500k of a bonus.

    Why?

It's in contact that if he's selected to the pro bowl he gets 500k (think it the biggest incentive in his contract as well). He's a first alternate but either way he misses out on the money.

He should fire his agent. Having a stipulation that means media popularity decides a bonus is just mind boggling. Only way you get in the probowl is by being talked about by the pundits and color commentators regularly. Its got nothing to do with talent.

This. It's a bummer for the guy, but basing bonuses on the outcome of a popularity contest is crazy.
