So a piece of my childhood just died. RIP Gerry.

I loved Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, and Space 1999. Any other child of the sixties feeling the feels today?

I grew up with his shows.
His mind was ahead of others of the time in regards to sci-fi ideas for shows.

(His best equivalent today is maybe Joss Wheadon.)

As a child of the early 90's his stuff was a favorite of mine.

RIP Gerry. I was a big fan of Thunderbirds, Joe 90 & Captain Scarlet in the '60's & '70's.

Would be very appropriate if they had a casket in the shape of one of Thunderbird #2's pods.

I'd love to have seen a Gerry Anderson version of Firefly :D

Thunderbirds and Stingray were my favourites of his, he was years ahead of his time. RIP

Don't forget UFO, which led on to Space 1999 ( First season >> Second season)

    Stingray

There was also the series with the X's and O's and Space Precinct

This comment about Thunderbirds sums it up
When Gerry showed his half-hour pilot to Lew Grade, Lew responded with:
"Gerry, this is not a series, this is a feature film!"
