Came across this video, and it just goes to show the importance of CPR. I know the girl doing it was doing a fairly poor job, but it worked in the end. Fair play to all involved.
It would have been nice if there was a nearby AED, and certainly I think the general public need to encouraged to take CPR classes.

I'm not sure about the outcome of this second video, but its still educational none the less. 2 police cars, and ambulance and fire crew there within 4 minutes, wouldnt it be nice if we had those resources outside of Dublin? :pac:

I see good CPR being given in both videos. The proof in the first one is the fact that the guy survived. Early access, early CPR, early De-fib, early ALS. great job done by all I reckon.

Agreed that CPR techniques need to taught to Joe public and I'm all for introducing CPR into Schools and introducing the subject to appropriately aged youngsters and teenagers.

Apologies, My CPR/CFR experience is slightly better than my uploading experience of You tube clips, promise. :)

I agree, it was good in first. But there are always things that could be improved on, she seemed to be giving 5 or 6 compressions then stopping and didnt seem all too sure, but its better than nothing and theres no point in nitpicking because he survived.

In the second video, it was done on a slope which possibly could have hindered the circulation?

Agreed the most suitable surface was to place the guy on the tarmac in front of the vehicle, but as is always the case you are dealing with a dead weight and unconscious humans are the most awkward of items to move about if you haven't the physical strength, brute force or correct technique to do so.

Again there was rapid intervention with a de-fib.

There is also a scene in Helicopter Heros? of the Helimed dispatcher having a MI into arrest.

Don't have a link but would provide a pint for someone who could dig one up.

Havent heard of that particular show myself but its always interesting to see how it is in real life. You can practice on the CPR dummy all you want, but it will never fully prepare you for what its going to be like in reality.

While we're at it, here are some other interesting video's I digged up which could be very educational to people in relation to Cardiac Arrest.

Different stages of arrest as seen on an ECG

and I wont embedd this one as it might upset some people (just a bit bloody) but its the effects of defibrillation on the heart.

Im sure any paramedics or EMT's on here already know all this (one would hope) but as a regular joe soap myself I think its very interesting :)

They're never that clean on an ECG monitor in real life. :P
