Hi all looking to get a lamp to do a bit of foxing. Looking for suggestions on hand held lamp. does any one have any recommendations on what to get. Best value as not looking to spend a fortune. Preferable full kit including battery or lamp on it's own. Or is it possible to do a DIY job

    Thanks

Try Trapper John for a lightforce 140. He is 80euro as far as I remember. Its a start :)

they are not cheap @265 but they are worth it i use the light force 170 as a spoter light then switch to the ND3

Not cheap no but all depends on budget. If it was me I'd start with a lamp and learn the old Fashion way.

Laser are suppose to be savage doe. But I haven't used one to be honest.

Decide what your budget is first. Lightforce 170 are great lamps if you can afford one. DIY would be a cheap spot light a motor cycle battery some wire and a simple on off weatherproof switch

Posted this in another thread but I'll post here as well.
As stated below look at the UCaller handheld lamps

What I have found out over the years was.

Get a dimmer for the lamp, this will extend the useful lamp time by a lot because your not got the lamp at full power.
The gel batteries are good to use. We have a 7 AmpHour one that is good for 2-3 hours of normal lamping
The 'UCaller Lamp' was as good as the Lightforce for less money, and can be got cheaper than shown here @€;59 and the switch was in a better place.

Wired up a 'Hella Connector' type outlet in the car from the battery, fused of course, one from the battery pack, and changed all the plugs over to the same connections.
