Dura Ace 7900 C24 TL Wheelset

These wheels were bought in May 2011 but little used in 2011 due to injury.

I've done 6 or 7 club races and 3 open races on them in 2012 as well as some sportives. Excellent condition.

They are for sale with the the Conti GP4000s that came with them. I've tried to show the amount of wear on both tyres and rims in the photos.

I could include a used cassette but it would be 9 speed, which I use.

I am selling because I hope to be getting a used Campy equipped bike, otherwise I would happily keep them.

    €500 ono

You can buy hub conversion kits?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 511 ✭✭✭531

I have looked into that and there are conflicting answers. If they can be converted to campy I would be delighted. Can you direct me to a conversion kit online? Thanks

I did ask about conversions on here before but I am hoping to get Campy 11 speed and this seemed to be an issue.

I would be unsure of that. But, I'd say buying a new hub at your LBS and getting them to replace it would be alot less bother?

But will other, Campy compatible, hubs fit Shimano wheels? Pity to 'break' such a good wheel.

I'm pretty sure they will. As long as the spokes fit the hub--a job for your local bike shop--all should be good! Pity to sell such brilliant wheels!

I'll look into it again, thanks.

Sorry, have to take that offer back. Finances were not as I htought.

From what I've read you'll not get a Campag 11sp (or shimano 11 for that matter) freehub to w ork with shimano 10sp wheels. Both the current 11sp campag cassette body and the new shimano cassette body are within a whisker of being the same width. But as current 10sp shimano are dished for a 2.8mm narrower cassette, it would involve getting wheel dished and then trying for a freehub body to suit. Not simple and not sure you'll get the bits anyway.
Love the wheels, can't stretch quite that far at the moment though.

Thanks for the advice but I'll try to sell them. Surely without the DA hub they are not DA wheels anymore?

hey 531, what weight are you? you can pm me the answer if you want! ;)

Surprising question! Anway, I am 11 and a half stone now, usually about 11 stone (I still deal in old weights (and miles instead of kilometres!)) during the Summer (only rode the wheels in summer in events). I am not aware that rider weight is an issue with the wheels, why do you ask?

    531, where are you based?

I'm interested in the wheels, money is a bit tight ATM so can only offer €375.

    Cheers Phil

Its my experience that big lads break wheels! Maybe just coincidental, but in the group i ride with some of the bigger lads definitely seem to need to true their wheels more often.

I am in the south east. I will however be in south Dublin this afternoon if that's any good to you.

I cannot accept your offer, I would sooner keep them than sell them for that.

    Thanks

I never considered myself big, but by cyclists' standards I'm probably obese!

531, what's the best you can do for them?

If I keep the tyres (and tubes), €400. That's my bottom line. I really believe they are worth it.

    Hi 531.

Anything in my ads on adverts.ie user name ciarano that might be of interest to swap?

    Cheers

Sorry, Political Wall Map,(for me and you!), but I have accepted the earlier offer. Should it fall through I will let you know.

I dunno........why, when there is such good will offered on this forum at times, do we still see some folk still stoop to the depths of trying to gazump a deal. Bad form - classy move!

Full marks to @531 for sticking to the earlier agreement

531, nice meeting you today, delighted with the wheels. Thanks for how you handled the sale.

Thanks, ABEasy, if I didn't have the family with me I'd like to have hung around chatting about cycling for longer!

Good luck with the wheels, let me know how you get on with them, if you get time to cycle!
