    Hi,

Following on from this thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056839585

So I opened the front cover of the Triton T90si shower:

This is the inside of the cover (upside down):

The yellow arrow below is pointing to the rusty screw where the water is dripping internally, I'm not altogether sure if that's the point from which the leak is coming from or is it running from somewhere else and dripping there:

(Sorry I can't get the photo to rotate properly! Arrow is pointing downwards)

From the label visable on the inside of the shower it looks like it was made in 2003 .It might be time to invest in a new one !

just for the sake of it, I assume the shower is fully isolated at the moment?
It should be on a separate block in the fuse box...

Yup, she had it put in in 2003.

If you are getting a new one make sure the power and water connections are on the same side as the one you have as this saves you doing an awful lot of work.

Thanks for that, I'd never have thought of that :)

That is a leak on the pump.Isolate water and power it looks like a seal is gone on it.If you screw out filter that isolates water from shower undo screws around selector and check seals. If new shower needed get triton t90z direct replacement will have to redrill some of fixing points

There is no point in really trying to do anything with this...Like most appliances they just wear out. We installed a new Triton in 2005. After being used roughly three times a day over 7 years it stopped working. You will be looking at about €199-250 for a replacement.

Yeah, herself isn't happy with it so we'll be getting a new shower.

You're right to do so...Peace of mind. Of course power showers are safe enough. But the whole electricity/water thing. You know what I mean. In saying that try some of the smaller electrical stores. They will usually give you a better deal. Also one thing when we were getting the new one put in. Try and keep the original shower head holder. It will save you having to drill new hole in the tiles. It just looks unsightly. If you are lucky the new bits will fit the old one. You will get a new hose and shower head anyway. Best of luck with it now :)

Spotted today that Woodies are selling the Triton T90Z 8.5Kw Pumped Electric Shpwer for €199.99 from tomorrow, might be worth getting, good price. Should be exact replacement with no modifications to your existing plumping or wiring...

To replace an existing same model probably €100-€150, to fit one from scratch probably around €250.

150 euro to replace with the same model seems a bit much.I replaced 1 in my ensuite in an hour .There is usualy a stop cock on the pipe coming from the tank to turn of the water so no draining of is needed.

Its much easier, and less time consuming, to replace one in your own house, than visit someone else`s and do it.

They can also vary from being a simple job, to a right pain.
