    Hi folks,

Long shot im sure but I was traveling on 14.45 bus from Dublin to Nenagh on Saturday 22nd and my bag, a small black rucksack, was taken.

If there's any chance anyone may see this and somehow has the bag I'd really appreciate a pm as there is nothing valuable in it but stuff that's important to me

    Many thanks

    TRG

Have you reported it to the bus operator? And the Garda?

Is there video on the bus?

Yes to reporting to bus aras and guards.

There is cctv on bus alright, they will look it up this week. Surprisingly bus aras had no intention of volunteering this info until I pressed them on it. Here's hoping

I'd be amazed if this wasn't a common occurrence. A very insecure way to carry people's luggage, with the boot opened many times and not supervised. Hope you get it back OP

Some buses have CCTV cameras covering the bay which is then displayed inside the bus. Obviously not a perfect solution, but a good idea and gives peace of mind.

It really is a bad system. Was thinking that myself the last time I was on a long distance bus. Anyone could help themselves to the contents of the luggage hold really, with no one to stop them. I think that the driver should supervise all the loading and unloading of luggage. It may solve some theft, but that still won't stop people helping themselves to stuff that isn't their own, as the driver shouldn't be expected to know who owns what. What about a system where people are given a tag when they put a bag in? You don't get to take a bag out unless you can produce the tag proving the bag is yours. Best of luck to you OP.

Was there any other bag left over? Maybe someone took the wrong bag. Either that, or it's the luggage dwarves.

Bus company and gardai (former, more than latter) are your only hope really.
