Take some photos without the lens so you'll verify whether your sensor is clean or not. Also you can always try to clean it - use giottos rocket air or similar tool (but DON'T use canned air) then get sensor cleaning swabs and clean your sensor.
Maybe you have some dust in pentaprism too?
You're saying that you see some mess on your photos, at what aperture? All or only above f/5.6?

By the way, recently I asked Conns about sensor cleaning and they can do it for €50 dry cleaning or €100 wet cleaning.

Those marks on photo are definitely on your sensor. Zerohamster will sort that out very quickly. Send him a PM on here

Yea I agree they are dust and fibers on your sensor, just buy swabs for 1.3 crop and cleaning fluid, put a couple of drops on the tip of the swab, set your camera for cleaning, remove lens (clean lens while its off!), press shutter button, the mirror will lock up, run the swab from left to right, flip the swab over and run it from right to left, done, take swab out of camera, press shutter button and mirror will return to normal. Attach cleaned lens.

Hold the camera body front down so no new dust/crap enters while your cleaning, I usually hold the camera above my head and look up at it while cleaning, and attach lens in same position.

Somebody mentioned prism may be dirty, even if it is it won't affect the image as the prism is only used for the viewfinder and isn't in line of lens and sensor.

Just ensure you have a fully charged battery before attempting to clean sensor so as mirror and shutter do not close while you have swab inside camera.

Thanks to all for the replies, I was bored waiting for Xmas dinner to be cooked and just posted in the hope that I would get some replies on the 26th. Very grateful for all the suggestions, this is the first time I have had a problem like this so I am either gonna get zerohamster to give the camera a thorough clean or I'll try cleaning myself. I also need a new battery or two so have to go looking for same. Any ideas? Funds are rapidly running low after Santa!

I got a free dry clean at www.dml.ie . They only charge €20 for a wet clean. Others here have recommended them too.

Helpful & friendly and some nice kit in the showroom!
