€1250 to spend in Dublin

Hello friends.

Im in dublin just for the Christmas and im looking to buy a gaming laptop.

Im thinking of spending around 1250 but would spend more if its a real bargain.

Can anyone suggest the best place to look? Im considering pc world and peats but neither seem to have any deals in the high end range.

Ill be leaving on the 30th so buying online is not an option, also buying online and delivierng home is not an option as the country I live in like to stop everything at customs and demand at least 25% of the value in tax.
Although that still might be better for the right deal I dunno

Go onto the PC World / Currys website.
Sort the laptops by price.
Find the exact models online and print the pages (Expansys/Pixmania/Laptopsdirect etc)
Bring the pages with you into any branch of PC World / Currys
Ask to speak to the assistant Manager- or someone who has the discretion to discount the prices and show them the pages you have (make sure the models you're showing them are in stock). They may not be able to match the online prices- but they can normally give you a very reasonable discount on the sticker price.

The display is actually 1920 x 1080 although none of the staff seem to even know this!!! They probably use the website for info, and its wrong.

So its a real bargain if you can find any left in the stores

Before you do anything else- make sure you burn a set of recovery disks for the laptop- and do not rely on the recovery partition on the hard-drive. Clean the crapware off the hard-drive first- makes most sense- and get burning.
