Hi, bought an aftermarket gear knob today for my corsa and its lift up reverse compatable. however i have put it on after reading distructions and its showing the spring underneath. if i put the gear knob further down then it doesn't lift up for reverse. ... . .. .

It's just opel compatible, needs to be bigger.
