Hopkins - title shot

Hopkins is a lot different to Holyfield, he's surely the greatest late-stage boxer of all-time. Sure he's getting up there but his record says he not a shot fighter. I certainly wouldn't put it past him to find away to win.

Fair play to him. Takes ridiculously good care of himself. I remember watching a HBO interview where he said he hasnt touched a drop of alcohol in 30 years and doesn't go near fizzy drinks as he thinks they're "liquid crack" :D

He is still a horrible prick of a man with the most awful style of boxing you will ever see. Clinch, spoil, rabbit punch, complain to ref, spoil some more..... the sooner someone knocks him out in a bad way the better for boxing.

A great technical style that works ............ but very boring to watch.

I have absolutely no doubt that Cloud will win this fight.

Shumenov is the best in the division at that weight anyway............

Never been a fan of Hopkins myself, a spoiler of the highest order. While he has to be congratulated for winning a world title in his forties, some achievement.
But my abidding memory of him will always be the Calzaghe fight where in the 9th round, with the fight getting away from him he made a total meal of a very soft blow just below the belt, trying to get Calzaghe disqualified. Was literally jumping into Calzaghe with his head at times.

I have to agree, I can't stand the man, but credit where it's due I still think he's a terribly hard man to beat, as for trying to look good against him - forget it.

I'm not entirely convinced Cloud will win this. His aggresive style could suit Hopkins actually. I might throw a small wager on Hopkins sneaking a decision.

Yeah he's not the most legal boxer with all the "tricks" he's got but credit is due for what he has done at the age of 46 and may be at 48!

Bernard Hopkins is going for the IBF Light heavyweight title in March. He'll be 48! Personally I'd like to see if he can do it at 48 but at the same time he should just retire now. Thoughts?
