I picked up a magazine called House & Home in Tesco last year,which was more aimed at the DIYer and how to do ID,painting and furnishings without blowing heap of cash.

I also went to the various trade paint shops and DIY stores and got lots of paint brochures and looked in them for styles and ideas.

A website called Houzz.com pops up here regularly and has some great photos and ideas in it.
