I am generally not that into films and i haven't seen any at all in at least 5 years. I was thinking on watching a few over Christmas.

What would be the must watch ones of the last 5 years. I wouldn't be big into action movies or horrors.

    thanks

hmm for me, off the top of my head trying to avoid obvious blockbusters...

    1. The Grey

    2.Shutter Island

    3.The Fountain

    4.Troll Hunter

    5.In Bruges

I would highly recommend the 2 Che films (imaginatively tiled Part 1 and Part 2) directed by Steven Soderbergh starring Benicio del Toro as Che Guevara.

It's a really impressive performance by del Toro in a really well crafted and interesting biopic...I was very impressed with these 2 movies and I personally rate them as 2 of the best films I have seen.

There Will Be Blood, I could blab on about just how great it is but needs no introduction really.

    Can't recommend enough too:

    Amour
    Carnage
    The Descendants
    Drive
    Hugo
    In Bruges
    Killer Joe
    A Prophet
    A Separation
    A Serious Man
    The Social Network
    Warrior

    A few of my favourites:

Four Lions - Chris Morris comedy drama about a gang of hapless suicide bombers, a great take on a controversial topic

Before The Devil Knows You're Dead - Sidney Lumet's final film that's about a scheme that goes horribly wrong for all involved, gripping and brilliantly-acted throughout

Drive - great soundtrack, action and characters; similar to Pulp Fiction in many ways but devoid of that film's humour

The Visitor - touching drama about an unlikely relationship that blossoms between a teacher and an illegal immigrant

End of Watch - best buddy cop drama in recent time (or ever?)

The Good, The Bad, The Weird - inspired by Leone's masterpiece this is set in Manchuria and is wonderful fun throughout

Moonrise Kingdom - really enjoyable film about two kids who elope together causing a big search party

Headhunters - brilliant Norweigan thriller about an art thief who finds himself on the run, full of tension and humour

Take Shelter - drama that's a great insight into madness and paranoia, superb lead performance from Michael Shannon

Zodiac - drama that centres on the real-life attempts to capture a serial killer

I would agree on these two. Headhunters is excellent!

Drive was nothing like people are describing it (for me) though! I thought it wasn't good at all.

Different strokes for different folks, but for me Drive was an amaing film and certainly up there with the best and most memorable of films ive seen in recent times.

A reccomendation id suggest would be

The Town, Directed by Ben Affleck with a strong cast set in Boston about bank robbers.

Inception would be high up there for me
The girl with the dragon tattoo (original)
    The wrestler was also awesome
