Medical Card Fees?

I picked up my prescription from the pharmacy yesterday but I wasn't charged at all. I asked them why but they didn't have an answer. I have a medical card and I've been on S.W.A. for the last three to four months and I'm waiting to hear back from my first appeal for Disability Allowance. I can't find any reason why I wasn't charged, I'd be grateful if someone could give me an answer.

They simply forgot to charge you- happens from time to time. For many years people did not have to pay a penny- and that is still deep in many sales persons in pharmacies. Old habits die hard...
Consider yourself lucky- it won't be like that all the time....

OP did you already pay for medication this month?

Once you pay iirc €132 a month then you don't pay after that

I assumed I was lucky but I asked the pharmacist three times if they were sure as I've been going to the same pharmacy for over a year and this never happened before.

I only get a monthly prescription for two different tablets so I only pay €1/month for now. I wouldn't have paid anything near €132 over the past year let alone in the past month.

Thats the Drug Payment System you are talking about. What th OP is sussing is the Dispensing Fee that Medical Card holders have to pay. Its currently 50c per item & is to rise to €1.50 from 1st January.
