Has anyone ordered from victoriassecret.com?

I know that around Christmas is the worst time of year to order from an American website as everything coming through Dublin Airport is checked for import duty and customs.

My question is, has anyone actually bought off the Victoria's Secret website and had a delivery free of customs charges?

I can see from their website that estimated delivery charge is about $38.99 Dollars for purchases between $125 - $175, does this sound correct and how long did your order take to arrive.

Finally, if you have ordered from them, would you recommend it, any problems you encountered etc.

I've ordered from them a few times in the last few years, and only once did I not pay the customs charges, from my understanding it can be a fluke that some packages get through without customs fees and some don't.

In terms of satisfaction with them, my deliveries always came earlier than expected, and their customer service was excellent. I was once asked to fill in a third party customer service survey to rate my satisfaction and in it I mentioned that I had received an incorrect item but had opted not to return it due to the cost, and within a week of filling in the survey received a letter from VS and the correct product, apologising profusely for the error and asking me to keep the item sent in error with their compliments (which worked out well for me because the item i was sent in error was a hoodie!)

If its underwear you're buying I would advise caution you would want to know your size with them first especially with bras and swimwear, but I've always found the size guides to be fairly accurate for things like pants, and clothing.

hope that helps! oh and when I'm ordering I usually ask around all my friends to see if they want to order anything, this really cuts down the delivery and customs fees as you get better value on delivery for larger orders

Yes, I ordered a coat from them. Top quality and I often get asked where I bought it from complete strangers- must look more expensive than it was. I was charged for customs, but it arrived pretty quick, so I'm more than happy to use them again.

Do you mind me asking ye all how much was customs roughly? Like am I able to estimate it for example is it worked out as a percentage of the goods price or is it done by weight or is it one charge for all?

I have ordered in the past, but not for a few years, but I never had to pay customs. The shipping can be expensive but I find the quality great, the stuff lasts well (once your size doesn't change!)

I was charged €50. I'm not sure how it was done but it would have been heavy enough for clothing as it was a heavy coat, and the value given was about $120.

duty is about 25%, plus vat 23% and I think there's a handling charge of about 5 euro.

Approx 40% of the value of the order total (which includes the shipping cost)

Thanks for your comments, the duty charges have seriously put me off. It's too expensive, I'll have to wait I get a chance to visit London or hope in the meantime that they get a UK or European based warehouse/delivery service.
